I was born and raised in a little town in Northern
Minnesota, I got married and my wife Amy and I moved to the Twin
Cities in 1986. We currently live in a suburb of a suburb with our
four Brittanys (see pluth.net for a complete story of us and the
dogs)
As far as modeling I was an active builder in my younger years,
but as with most kids, I quit around age 13 and didn't start again
until I turned 30. I've been back at it ever since. My main area
of interest is World War II Pacific, but mostly (you guessed it)
Japanese Aircraft, actually captured Japanese Aircraft to be more
specific.
My interest in aircraft comes from photos my father took during
the War. As a young fellow, I remember looking at the photos and
spent hours trying to figure out which aircraft was which. It was
great! My dad served with both the 5th and 13th Army Air Forces,
actually it was with the 440th Signal Corps who supported the 5th
and 13th. They wired and setup the islands for the air wings previous
to their arrival.
As far as this website goes, it started in about 1997 on my
personal account on a local ISP. The first iterations of this page
were pretty rough, but my idea in creating it was to build a comprehensive
reference for folks that are interesting Japanese Aircraft. A place
that I'd like to come to and visit often.
To give credit where credit is due. I really don't do that much here
except compile what others send me and present it in a way that's easy
to get through. It truly is your page and thanks to all of you for
making it a great deal of fun! |
